Jasprit Bumrah Bowls Unplayable Deliveries To Remove Ryan Rickelton and Aiden Markram in Successive Overs in 1st IND vs SA Test [WATCH]
Jasprit Bumrah bowled two unplayable deliveries to dismiss Ryan Rickelton and Aiden Markram in successive overs in the 1st IND vs SA Test. South Africa were off to a fabulous start, and India needed someone to break the stand.
Bumrah started with Rickelton, against whom he bowled a length delivery on the stump line, and the ball moved away after pitching. Rickelton played the wrong line, and the ball went past his outside edge to crash the stumps and leave the batter befuddled.
Meanwhile, Aiden Markram was undone by extra bounce off a back-of-a-length delivery, something the batter didnโt expect, even though the pitch had uneven bounce right from the start. He could only get the outside edge, and Rishabh Pant completed a fine diving catch behind the wickets.
Markram couldnโt have done much on that delivery, but Bumrah ensured India were back into the contest after a false start. He has done it time and again, coming up with two unplayable balls just when India looked under pressure early in the game.
Jasprit Bumrah stands out in first session against South Africa
Itโs not surprising that Jasprit Bumrah seemed to be operating on a completely different surface from what Mohammed Siraj and other bowlers did. Overall, he bowled seven overs and conceded only nine runs while taking two wickets, including as many as four maidens.

The other pacer, Mohammed Siraj, was mighty underwhelming in the first session, conceding 34 runs in six overs at an economy rate of 5.70. Even spinners collectively conceded 3.64 runs per over, even though Kuldeep Yadav took a wicket.
However, Bumrah was relentless, especially after getting his rhythm, which was one of the reasons to give him an extended spell. The move worked brilliantly, as the ace pacer removed Markram in his final over before getting a well-deserved break.
India required someone to take the matter into his own hands and put them back in the contest, and who better than Bumrah for the job. Lately, he has been a bit hot and cold according to his own lofty standards, but this spell showed why he is so good and always remains a big threat to the opponent, irrespective of the pitch or conditions.
