Smriti Mandhana is one century away from equaling with Meg Lanning for most centuries in women's ODIs.
Opening in a must-win clash for the hosts and the opponents, Smriti Mandhana joined forces with Pratika Rawal as both batters scored centuries in a Women’s World Cup 2025 match in Navi Mumbai on October 23. The openers gave India a good start against New Zealand Women. But where does Mandhana rank among the players with the most centuries in Women’s ODIs?
Earlier, Australia captain Alyssa Healy produced a dominating knock to hand the hosts their second consecutive defeat in the ongoing Women’s World Cup 2025. She went on to score back-to-back hundreds against Bangladesh Women.
Women’s cricket has witnessed many legendary players grace the field with their high-quality performances. With the Women’s World Cup 2025 currently underway, we take a look at the players with the most women’s ODI hundreds.
Details of ICC Women’s World Cup 2025
Former Australia captain Meg Lanning sits at the top of this list of the most centuries in women’s ODIs. Lanning, who won multiple World Cup titles in both white-ball formats, was arguably the greatest batter the game has seen. She retired with 15 ODI hundreds in her glorious career.
She achieved this in just 102 innings and has the best innings per hundred (6.80) ratio amongst those with at least eight centuries. Lanning amassed 4,602 runs in the format and has the best average (53.51) among those with a minimum of 1,200 runs.
India batting superstar Smriti Mandhana has a golden opportunity to dethrone Lanning in the list of most centuries in Women’s ODIs. She has hit 14 centuries in the fifty-over format from 114 innings. Mandhana is just 29 years of age and can play at least three to four more years if she desires. Given the kind of form she has been in for the past two years, that record should not be too far.
The veteran New Zealand batter Suzie Bates made her international debut in 2006 and is still going strong. Bates is also chasing the record for most centuries in Women’s ODIs. She is currently third in the list with 13 centuries. The Kiwi opener averages 38.98 in her ODI career of 168 innings.
England batter Tammy Beaumont is fourth on the list of most centuries in women’s ODIs. Debuted in 2009, she has been a regular feature in the England team. She has registered 12 centuries in 128 innings, with the highest score of 168. Beaumont also has the opportunity to go past Lanning if she continues to play good cricket.
The current England captain, Nat Sciver-Brunt, also has 10 hundreds to her credit in women’s ODIs. She is one of the very best all-rounders in the game and has a terrific record as a batter. Playing in the middle, she has piled on over 4,200 runs in the format at an average of 46.12. Only Alyssa Healy has a higher strike rate than her among players with 3,500 runs.
Hayley Matthews is unfortunate to miss the ongoing Women’s World Cup 2025 as the West Indies failed to qualify for the event. But Matthews has already cemented her legacy as one of the most impactful players in the game. She has registered nine hundreds from 96 innings in the fifty-over format.
The South African batter sits seventh on the list of most centuries in women’s ODIs. She has nine hundreds but has taken more innings than Matthews and Sciver-Brunt. Laura Wolvaardt has piled on over 4,900 from 115 innings at an excellent average of 49.21. Only 26 years of age, she has all the time in the world to climb up the ladder.
