The two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders will lock horns with the in-form Punjab Kings side in the eighth match of the Indian Premier League 2022.
Kolkata had a great start off the tournament as they won their first game against the Chennai Super Kings but they lost their second game against RCB. Their batters failed to play freely and KKR were bundled out for just 128 runs.

The bowlers then did a fantastic job and took the game to the last over before Dinesh Karthik chased it down for the Royal Challengers who won the game by 3 wickets Venkatesh Iyer has failed in both the games he has played so far and KKR will expect him to come back in form. The other batters too need to be in form. The bowlers have done really well in both the games and will look to continue their good form in the upcoming matches as well.
Punjab Kings had a great start in IPL 2022 as they defeated RCB by 5 wickets chasing down 205 runs with an over to spare. Their bowlers were quite expensive in the first game especially in the death overs and they’ll need to improve on that. Kagiso Rabada is back and that will be a huge boost to their bowling attack. Punjab’s batting is one of the best in this year’s IPL as the likes of Mayank Agarwal, Shikhar Dhawan, Liam Livingstone, Bhanuka Rajapksa, Shahrukh Khan, etc form a very intimidating batting line-up. Punjab will look to continue their winning momentum in this game also.

Wankhede is known for its batting friendly pitches and this one will be the same as well. The new ball moves a lot in the initial few overs which the pacers will look to exploit. Chasing sides have won 45 games out of 85 played here. Teams will look to chase as there will be a lot of dew in the second innings.
