Cricket is not a stranger to tag-team catches and in recent years, with fielders becoming more and more acrobatic, we see more of this in recent years. Watching their favorite players on the screen do such audacious things, even young cricketers began emulating it at their own level of the game, and we now see such stuff spreading across Europe through the European Cricket Series.

In the ECS Portugal Cartaxo, we witnessed an absolute blinder being taken by a couple of fielders, which didn’t just involve tracking back and tag-team action, but also some great juggling as well. The batter heaved a delivery outside off and top-edged it to square leg. The fielder came rushing in from mid-wicket to collect the catch and he struggled to grab it in the first go because of the momentum with which he was running towards it.

The ball kept popping out of his hands multiple times, and it even popped towards his back but he managed to flip it upward anyway. Eventually, the other fielder who reached there from fine-leg ensured the ball wasn’t spilled and completed the catch. The commentator watching the action described it as “The greatest catch he has ever seen in cricket” and the hype wasn’t totally unjustified.

Have a look at this unbelievable tag-team catch from the Portuguese T10 which grabbed so much limelight on social media.

Indian fans have witnessed a fair share of such tag-team catching over the years. Back in the 2015 IPL, Tim Southee and Karun Nair combined together on the boundary edge to pull off one of the most stunning catches witnessed in the tournament, and Big Bash League saw a lot of these in recent years.

In the Marsh Cup earlier this year, we even witnessed a stunning 3-man tag-team catch that saw Michael Neser walk back in a game between Queensland and South Australia.
