Watch: Shreyas Iyer being upset at Brendon McCullum for changing batting order after his dismissal

Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) faced each other in the 30th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Monday (April 18). The two teams treated the fans with some brilliant cricket as 427 runs were scored in 39.4 overs and the winning margin was only seven runs in the end.

Understandably tempers flared between and there were disagreements over a few decisions during the match even as KKR lost the game from a comfortable position. Yuzvendra Chahal was KKR’s nemesis picking up four wickets including a hattrick in the 17th over to leave the opposition reeling and stunned.

He scalped a crucial wicket of Shreyas Iyer as well in that over and post that KKR unravelled like anything. Interestingly, Shivam Mavi was promoted ahead of Pat Cummins in that over after Iyer’s dismissal and for the same reason, the KKR skipper seemed to be disappointed with the head coach Brendon McCullum.

Mavi’s promotion didn’t make any difference and even Cummins couldn’t score a run as both were foxed by Chahal with his guile to take a sensational hattrick. After losing the game by seven runs, Shreyas Iyer was seen indulging in a conversation with McCullum and was visibly unhappy probably over the last minute change in batting order.

He was seen saying something to the KKR head coach even as the latter was sitting in the dugout. The video of the same has gone viral now.

As for Shreyas Iyer, he led from the front in the chase scoring 85 runs off just 51 balls before getting out in the 17th over. KKR were in complete control of the chase with four overs to go needing only 40 runs with six wickets in hand. But they lost it completely shooting themselves on the foot with some poor shots losing six wickets for just 32 runs in next 22 deliveries.

Umesh Yadav hit some lusty blows to take the game close and in fact, KKR needed 11 runs off the final over which was still possible. But they didn’t have wickets in hand and were eventually bundled out for 210 runs chasing 218.
