During the ongoing fixture between Guajart Titans (GT) and Surisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Afghanistan cricketer Noor Ahmad received a lethal blow to his ankle and was forced off the field. 

This incident happened in the 16th over of the match when Klaasen hit a ball hard straight down the ground. While Ahmad tried to duck, the ball bounced off his right ankle as he ahd no time to react. He was immediately down on the ground and was grimacing in pain. Ahmad was eventually taken off the field with physios helping him walk.

After Ahmad was taken off the field, Rahul Tewatia bowled the final ball to complete the 16th over.

The extent of the youngster's injury would be known in few days after he was seen writhing in pain. Noor Ahmad has been one of the finds for Gujarat Titans with the playoffs approaching, this would be a big blow if he misses out.

Talking about the match, Gujarat Titans became the first team to seal a berth in the IPL 2023 playoffs after outclassing Sunrisers Hyderabad. Mohammed Shami and Mohit Sharma took three wickets each as SRH suffered a batting collapse in chase of 189. Shami accounted for Anmolpreet Singh, Rahul Tripathi and Aiden Markram while Yash Dayal got rid of Abhishek Sharma. Mohit removed Sanvir Singh, Abdul Samad and Marco Jansen.

Earlier, Shubman Gill struck his maiden IPL century but then Sunrisers Hyderabad bowled well in the death overs with Bhuvneshwar Kumar taking a five-wicket haul to limit Gujarat Titans to 188/9.
